Personal computers whether at home, school or at work are essential elements in
today's hi-tech world. Unfortunately, using personal computers exposes us to an
alarming amount of germs. The average keyboard contains more than 3000
microbes per square inch, while the average toilet seat has only 49.
Inadvertently, infectious diseases get passed from person to person.
In a recent study on the health risks to staff in the average office environment,
carried out by Dr Richard Samarasinghe a specialist in germ investigation, he found
that an average keyboard harboured some 3,295 germs per square inch and the
average phone contained 25,127 germs per square inch. Such germs found
included "E-Coli and Salmonella". This proves that the job we specialise in is such

equipment that will also make it last longer, thus cutting down replacement costs
but it also creates a healthier place for staff to be in, and as such that will cut
down on potential sickness problems.
